Home Decor for a Very Venus Holiday

This year, the holidays are all about enjoying time at home. There’s no place more rejuvenating and lovely than one’s home, and we’re determined to make our spaces as gorgeous and inviting as possible for the season of celebration.

Whether you’re inspired by the notion of evergreen winter forests, the royal color gold, snowy winter wonderlands, or the gorgeous fruits of the season, here are a few ways to make your space luxurious, cozy, and gorgeous for a warm holiday season at home.

Each of these decor themes will dazzle your guests and provide you with a beautiful environment to spend time working, relaxing, and enjoying the little luxuries of life in, all winter long.

Ever-Gorgeous Evergreen

For this holiday look, think emerald green winter foliage. Channel the gorgeous abundance of the outdoors with deep shades of green. Emeralds symbolize truth and love, and this look is evocative of prosperity and the natural universe.

First, gift yourself with a few stunning arrangements of flowers that will enhance your home for the holidays—and will last for more than an entire year. We recommend our Thalia Vase, Serene Vase, and Allura Vase, each with luxurious roses in green, silver, black, and/or gold. These stunning arrangements will introduce an element of classic elegance to the outdoor look.

Dress your mantel, console table, and coffee table with branches of winter greenery from the outside, pinecones, juniper berries on the twig, and other foraged items from the outdoors. To elevate this look, we recommend finding some gold ribbon to weave through the assemblages. You can also fill large crystal, brass, or silver bowls with natural objects such as pinecones and acorns to serve as warm, natural decor pieces.

Place dark green or silver pillows on your couch, and invest in a super luxurious cashmere blanket in dark green plaid or a solid dark green. Hang velvet or silk forest green curtains from your windows—it’ll make your space even more cozy, and will tie the look together.

If you have a fireplace, make sure to keep a neat stack of wooden longs nearby—they’ll look amazing and will make you feel inclined to spend more evenings by the fireplace. You may also want to invest in new fireplace tools to make your living room even more sophisticated. Consider hanging evergreen branches and golden meteor string lights, strung from a branch, above your mantle for a luscious forest look.

For your dining area, invest in some forest green linens. When you’re setting the table for your holiday meals, tuck a bit of winter greenery, with or without a spring of cranberries or an acorn, into each napkin ring for a special touch. Find dark green taper candles and set them around the table for a luxurious natural glow.

For a super cozy touch, trade out your summer linens in the bedrooms for flannel, cotton, and other warm fabrics in shades of charcoal or dark green. We love the look and feel of a super cozy cashmere blanket on each bed.

Go with Gold

You can never go wrong with gold. It’s a royal color that symbolizes extravagance, wealth, riches, illumination, love, compassion, courage, passion, magic, and wisdom. Elevate your home with these properties and warm it for the holiday season with the ethereal color gold.

It’s the ideal arrangement for having in your entertaining room, and your guests will love having cocktails as they admire it. With it’s four roses, the Sylvie is an ideal decor piece that will sprinkle small and powerful dashes or gold around your home. For your dining table, go with the incredible Thalia Vase with gold roses. It’s an abundant and astonishingly gorgeous arrangement that will serve as the perfect centerpiece for your golden holiday tablescape. As the seasons change, each of these arrangements will continue to glow and radiate beauty in your home.

Once your golden arrangements have been placed, go for the gold by placing objects, painted with gold leaf, around your home. Acorns, pinecones, winter leaves, apples, pears, branches, leaves, stars, and paper flowers are all gorgeous options for this, and each of these objects can be painted with gold flake—it’s a fun, simple, and enjoyable seasonal activity. What sounds more soothing than painting stars gold on a snowy day?

Snowy Wonderland

For this winter-ready look, channel a snow-draped fairy tale scene with an abundance of glittering white and silver details and home decor pieces that will provide you with an elegant wonderland to stay cozy in all season long.

First, select arrangements of flowers with classic white and silver roses, and place them around your home. Each of the pieces in our Maison Collection are inspired by ancient Greek architecture, and these timeless vases are ideal for conjuring a snowy wonderland. The ceramic vases are stunning and timeless and will look elegant in your home for more than an entire year. We love our Fleura Vase with roses, and this elegant piece is ideal for any room in your home—from bedside tables to your mantel place to console tables, this sophisticated vase will make space feel more gracious. We love it with both silver and white roses. White and silver are both neutral colors, so each of the vases that you buy for the holidays will serve as a stunning decor piece in your home through the entire new year.

Next, deck the halls with all things silver and “snowy”. Think silver taper candles, clear crystal icicles, white and glittering silver snowflakes, white and silver birch branches, silver pinecones, and so forth. Find or purchase a silver, crystal, or frosted tall vase and fill it with tall branches that you’ve painted silver for a gorgeous, easy to make decor piece. Buy strings of fairy lights and place them around your house—these are especially gorgeous when woven in with your window drapings for a bright, warm glow.

Swap out your stack of colorful coffee table books for books in shades of white for a monochrome look. Place silver and crystal bowls on your coffee table, and fill them with white finger foods such as popped water lily seeds, white pumpkin seeds, and foil-wrapped dark cacao almonds. If you’re able to find a refined winter wonderland snowglobe, this is a charming decor piece to place on your coffee table.

Keep your bar cart stocked with bottles of clear top shelf spirits such as vodka and tequila, a stack of silver or white cocktail napkins, crystal glasses, and a silver ice bucket. A Grandir Le Petit with silver roses is the perfect decor piece to place on your bar cart—it’s small and will add a major dose of luxuriousness to any surface.

Dress your beds, chairs, and couch with these elegant, cozy pillows and blankets in shades of silver and white. Hang billowy white linen or silk curtains from your windows to keep the chilly winter air out, and make your space even more cozy. We love the look of a gorgeous piece of silver fabric such as silk or velvet draped across the top of windows to make them look even more tied together, festive, and elegant for the holidays. If you really want to make your home holiday-ready, you can stick silver paper snowflakes to your windows.

For your dining table, select white and silver linens and plates, your best silver flatware, and crystal glasses and objects galore. Place arrangements of long lasting white roses on the table such as our luxurious Thalia Vase with silver or white roses. Consider creating a winter wonderland scene on your table by purchasing miniature winter trees and placing them around the table. You can paint them silver or leave them green (we love the look of silver trunks and evergreen leaves). Place a few silver snowflakes amidst the forest, and buy a bag of silver star or finely ground glitter confetti and sprinkle it across the table for even more shine.

If you celebrate Christmas and will have a tree this year, consider decorating it with nothing but silver and white ornaments and details—think silver tinsel, glittering white snowflakes, and silver glass bulbs. Wrap each of the gifts that you’re placing under the tree in silver paper for a sophisticated take on the classic Christmas staple.

The Fruits of the Season

This look is fruitful, colorful, and totally festive. It’s a celebration of the literal fruits of the season, warm winter tones, love, and warmth. It’s a celebration of precious ruby gemstone, which represents nobility, purity, and passion. Channel rubies and gorgeous seasonal fruits—cranberries, apples, citrus, pears, pomegranates, and so forth for a delightful holiday decor scheme. If you’ve already read our table decor and holiday recipes blog post, you’ll notice that this is an extension of the seasonal fruits theme that applies to your entire home.

First, select an arrangement of flowers such as our timeless Grandir Le Plain, and place a few around your home, with roses in orange, burgundy, gold, red, and hot pink. We love the look of having several of the same arrangement, each with different colors of roses in the same tone scheme, placed around a space. You can also, of course, select one color of roses to go with, such as burgundy, and place several around your home for a more coherent look. Our Grandir Collection is a celebration of timelessness and monumental moments, making it ideal for the holiday season and for more than an entire year to come. The textured ivory boxes are classic and pair beautifully with roses in warm colors.

Once your flowers are in place, select seasonal fruits—pomegranates, pears, apples, winter citrus, and cranberries, and place them in brass or golden bowls around your home. Mix a few pinecones and sprigs of winter greenery within each of the bowls for a bit of contrast. This super simple decor piece is ideal for placing on a coffee table, kitchen counter, and side tables. If you have a bit of extra time, consider studding the skins of oranges with cloves for an extra touch of color and texture. The cloves will also fill your home with a warm, beautiful seasonal scent.

For your dining table, construct a pyramidal shape out of these same seasonal fruits, or select one fruit, such as pears, to create a cone with. Allow this to serve as the centerpiece of your dining table. Place branches, pinecones, pomegranates, twigs of cranberries, and votive candles in shades of burgundy, burnt orange, and gold around the rest of the table. For your linens, select a burgundy or gold tone. A golden tablecloth is a truly luxurious and stunning base for the table decor, but a dark wooden table works beautifully with theme as well. We love adding chile flakes to just about every meal that we eat, and they happen to go perfectly with this decor theme. Place small bowls of chile flakes with small golden spoons around the table—the chile flakes will bring a dash of color to the room and will make your meals even more warming, flavorful, and delicious. When setting the table for guests, place a single pomegranate or pear on each napkin for a loving touch.

In the living room, switch out your curtains for velvet or linen curtains in a warm shade such as burgundy or gold for a sensuous, cozy look. Place a warm cashmere blanket and throw pillows in warm tones such as burgundy, red, and forest green on your couch. On your coffee table, place brass or gold bowls of long lasting on color-scheme foods such as cherries, acorns, and almonds out for your and your guests to enjoy. You can also swap out your usual stack of coffee table books for coffee table books in warm tones for a monochromatic look.

Fill small brass, gold, crystal, or silver bowls with sumptuous natural treasures such as cloves, star anise, dried rose petals, and cinnamon sticks, and place the bowls around your home. This homemade potpourri will look amazing with your holiday decor theme and will fill your home with warm, sweet scents of the season.
