6 Unique New Year’s Resolutions
Develop a Month-by-Month Fitness Plan
Exercising and going to the gym more frequently are among the most common new year’s resolutions. While many people often stick to their goals for the first month or two, eventually, they give up on their resolutions for a variety of reasons. If you are determined to stick to your fitness resolution this year, try creating a month-to-month plan instead of a plan that may take the entire year to achieve. One of the main reasons people give up on their fitness goals is because they find it too difficult, or they get bored. With a month-to-month plan, you can easily change up your routine if you feel yourself getting into a funk, and you can track your progress each month and adapt your goals.
Pick Up a New Hobby
Have you always wanted to try something new, but you never had an excuse to take the plunge? Now is your chance! The new year is a great chance to get out of your comfort zone and try something new, and picking up a new hobby is a goal that you can definitely achieve in the span of a year. Maybe you have always wanted to try cooking, but you didn’t have time. Instead of ordering yet another take-out meal, use the money to schedule a cooking class, or buy a cookbook and make a meal! Taking up a new hobby may cause some frustrations at first, and you may need to try a few before you find one that you really love, but you have all year to give a few things a try.
Try a New Routine
It’s easy to create a routine and get stuck doing the same things day after day. Perhaps you get up each morning, get ready for work, and then come home at the end of the day. Instead of sticking with the same boring routine, make it your resolution to mix up your routine and try something different. This can be as simple as going to a different grocery store, or you can try taking a few exercise classes that help you get moving at the end of your day. Maybe try to get drinks with friends more often, or even treat yourself to a spa day or a shopping spree.
