The Ultimate Summer Flower Guide: What's in Season and What to Gift
Summer's flower calendar moves fast. What's in every flower shop bucket in May is gone by July, replaced by something else entirely come September. If you're choosing summer flower arrangements as a gift, timing your pick to what's actually in season makes a real difference — here's the lineup, month by month, and how to sidestep the calendar altogether if you'd rather not race it.

Peonies: Late Spring Into Early Summer
Peonies open the summer season and close out just as fast — a few short weeks of availability, and only three to five days once cut. Our Eternity Peonies collection, including the Thalia Porcelain Vase in Peony Étoile, is hand-harvested at peak bloom and preserved to last up to a year, so the window to gift them never really closes.
Dahlias: Late Summer Into Fall
Dahlias take over as summer winds down, offering some of the most dramatic, densely petaled blooms of any season — dinner-plate-sized varieties included. They're a striking choice for a late-summer centerpiece, though like peonies, their fresh vase life tops out at about a week.
Ranunculus: Spring Into Early Summer
Ranunculus overlaps with peony season and brings a similar layered, romantic petal structure in a smaller, more delicate package. It's a favorite among florists for its versatility — and one of the rarer blooms we've worked with directly, including an extremely limited Eternity® Japanese Ranunculus grown exclusively for us in partnership with our botanical farms in Japan.
How We Capture Every Season, All Year

The whole idea behind Eternity® flowers is removing the calendar from the equation. Real blooms, hand-picked at peak bloom, preserved to look and feel fresh for up to a year — so a peony gift in October or a summer palette in the dead of winter is never off the table. The Terre Travertine Vase in Peony Étoile, Lavande Rosé is one of our best examples: a peak-summer palette, available whenever the moment calls for it.
