Travertine is a natural limestone formed when mineral-rich thermal spring water rises to the surface and evaporates, leaving behind layers of calcium carbonate that build up over thousands of years. The result is a dense, naturally veined stone — not a composite or manufactured material.

Each vase starts as a hand-selected block of raw travertine, chosen for its color, density, and veining. Our master artisans then hand-carve, hollow, and smooth the block using techniques passed down through generations. Because every vase is carved individually rather than molded, no two are ever exactly alike.

Our travertine is quarried in Turkey's Denizli region, home to some of the world's largest and finest travertine deposits. It's the same stone historically used in structures like the Roman Colosseum and the ancient terraces of Hierapolis.

Yes. The veining, pitting, and mineral patterning in travertine are formed naturally underground, so each block — and each vase carved from it — has its own one-of-a-kind coloring and texture.
